I'm sorry to hear this. Although it's not too late to plan a weekend away. Maybe some of them are in driving distance and you can see them as soon as tomorrow. Or make a few phone calls. Sometimes that helps. Although sometimes it backfires and I end up missing people more.
Perhaps it's just a time of year when we all should make an effort to remember who is important to us. Maybe the Kan needs to make an effort to go down and see you. (Yes, this includes me...) There are times I feel like we ask too much of you, and this hurts me. I hope that you are getting as much out of this relationship as I.
I am always intending to go to Portland. Never seems like a good time for one reason or another. I guess those are the times where I just need to make it happen. I know it won't be too long. I gotta git outta here for a bit.

The other part of this is: there are muliple reasons for me to get to Spokane.
There are less reasons to get to Portland--so I understand that it's a little harder to justify the trip down.
I'd be willing to do my part to see my friends down here (offer a place to stay, etc.)
